When hair is thinning
Hair thinning often builds up slowly before it is noticed, most commonly as pattern hair loss. Supportive scalp treatments such as GFC may be considered alongside medical treatment, once the type and cause of hair loss are clear.
How GFC works
Like PRP, GFC starts with a small sample of your own blood. It is processed with a dedicated kit that activates the platelets so they release their growth factors, producing a concentrate with fewer other blood components. The concentrate is then injected into the thinning areas of the scalp.
GFC is a newer technique than PRP, and research on it is more limited. It is usually given as a short course of sessions.

Treatment by Dr. Omkar Warang, DNB
Dr. Warang offers both GFC and PRP as part of his non-surgical trichology practice, so the choice between them is based on your situation, not on the options available. He previously served as Director of Trichology at Hair and Shape Clinic (2023–2026).
Is GFC better than PRP?
Neither is better for everyone. GFC is processed differently and research on it is more limited. Dr. Warang will explain which, if either, may suit you.
How many GFC sessions are needed?
Usually a short course, decided according to your hair loss and response.
Does GFC hurt?
The injections can be uncomfortable, but numbing is used and the discomfort passes quickly.
Is GFC safe?
It uses your own blood, so allergic reactions are unlikely. Side effects are usually mild and temporary, such as tenderness or redness. As with any procedure, suitability is checked first.
